After receiving the item I decided to look @ the instructions to see how easy it would be to hook up & to make sure it would make a good gift.. All that came with this back-up system was 1 piece of paper & on only a little square of the paper were the instructions, no words really just one picture that made no sense. After finally figuring out how to hook it up myself, the monitor wouldn't work.. I messed with it, the monitor worked only once for about 30 seconds and never came back on.. You get what you pay for, do not fall victim to this item.. Spend the extra money and buy a better one..

Parallel parking is now a breeze due to the very wide angle view. It is not the highest quality image but displays well in both day and night. The video screen is subject to glare (like cell phones, etc) so don't plan on mounting it in a sunny spot. I stuck it to the left of the steering column with Velcro. Unlike other models that have a mounting system over the license plate holder, the camera mounting on this unit can be problematic. The maker helpfully supplies a HOLE SAW (!) to drill a nice big hole in your sheet metal. I doubt the camera will last as long as my car so I rigged a mount inside the back window (remember-station wagon) and am satisfied. It also lacks an on-off switch so I mounted a switch in my dash, thinking it might extend the life of the display if I was able to turn it on when I need it. So- bottom line - if you are handy with auto electric for a DIY install then it will work for you.

Picture is very nice and clear, and nice size, clamps securely on existing rear view mirror, and disconnects easily for storage in vehicle. 6", single cord pigtail disconnects easily leaving connector harness up in ceiling. Connected to reverse wiring the unit will power up in less than half a second and switch to video2 as soon as the vehicle is put into reverse. Connect a backup camera to run off the backup light wiring and camera will only be on as needed. One caveat, using the device as a mirror pretty much looks like a conventional mirror in dimmed mode, so is hard to see after dark. Its got the factory navigation, and i added the TVandNav2go module (excellent product btw, i'm in no way related to them but anyone with a factory nav/dvd player should get one) to control between the backup cam and factory dvd player. The install went smoothly, no real complaints. Yes supplied are regular bolts not torqs bolts to mount it. They are held in the aluminum face, where you cant just take an ajustable wrench to loosen them, you need to actually get behind the bumper to remove it. This seems pretty safe in my mind. Picture is super wide....like almost too wide. Without backup sonars i would be very nervous backing up extremely close to something because of how much wall-eye it gives. But then again thats the point, so get a wide range to make sure there is nothing behind you. But all in all, its a great picture, great camera, and i'd recommend it, especially for the price. My electrician had to use wires to run from the mirror (front of vehicle) all the way to the back..so I'm not too sure about the wireless part...maybe he did something wrong?
