Features - Adapter Cable Product Description Universal Rear-View Camera for use with Pioneer A/V and Navigation products featuring a Rear View Camera Input. Customer Reviews Cure for Cool Cars with limited rear view! Date: 2009-02-18 | Rating: 5 Once I installed the PIONEER AVGVDP1 Vehicle Dynamics Processor, I had a video screen. That's all that's necessary to use this unit, and provisions are there to plug it into it's own box and from there to the video screen box. So when I installed the VDP-1 I left room on the component mounting board to install the control box for this device. As it turned out the control box is the size of a box of Tic-Tacs, so the space I left was very generous.. Every time I went to that big world-dominating discount store, I looked at the cheap rear-view camera and every time I would leave it on the shelf, waiting for it to come down from $100 to the $20 it's probably worth. But it is one of the items that has never in my experience been "Rolled Back". So eventually I stopped watching it but never stopped thinking about how nice it would be to have one. Our Jeep Commander Overland has one that came from the factory and it's very useful for spotting the curb before the rear juts past, for lining up when parking, and so on. I drive a Chrysler Crossfire. I love the car and on the road, the rear view (with properly angled mirrors) is just fine. But backing up is another thing altogether. Side rear view is very limited and large things can be directly behind and invisible through the rear window. There have actually been times I've gotten out and checked before daring to back up. And I have had quite a few close calls with other drivers going way too fast in parking lots and sneaking up on me after I had tried to check. I consider myself a good driver so this is frustrating. Some reviewers claim the night vision is not very good. But video screens have adjustments for this on the better monitors. I took a minute to adjust my Pioneer AVD-W6210 touch-screen in the night-mode and the view is like daylight, both in terms of sharpness and color quality. So in my experience, the night view is a function of the screen and settings. And remember that if your back-up lights aren't very bright, there isn't anything short of night vision that's going to help... What impressed me most about this unit was the incredibly small size. The control box is the size of a pack of Tic-Tacs. The camera is the size of a single bullion cube. The product picture on this site is actually larger than life size! Since I already had a compatible Pioneer video screen installed, the addition of this unit was mindlessly easy. I literally plugged in the 12-volt, ground and video cables, stuck the camera to the back of my car, routed the wires, and it was over. The camera worked great first try. My screen gives the option of "mirror" or "normal" views so I have the choice of how I want to see the view. The camera comes on automatically when I put the car in reverse. Pretty darned easy! It cost me very little more than the Wal*Mart unit and far exceeds it's capabilities and quality. The added bonus is that the camera is wired in rather than wireless and battery-powered. This is worth every penny! Excepttional Camera!!!!!! Date: 2008-03-31 | Rating: 5 I had my choice of the audiovox, eclipse and Pioneer. A friend of mine has this camera on his F-350 and recommended it to me. the picture quality is phenominal in the day and even better at night. You will have some blurry spots in the rain( but what camera would not)I would definately recommend this camera to a friend.... Great camera Date: 2009-01-14 | Rating: 5 Works great! Shows a very wide angle view. Only complaint is that in direct sun light there is some glare (not a big deal). Decent Date: 2008-04-21 | Rating: 4 Quality is pretty good, however the image is zoomed out a lot. A car behind me may be only a few inches away, but on the screen, it looks like it's a couple feet away. Looks great at night Very Good Purchase Date: 2009-05-30 | Rating: 3 This is a very good selection if you already checked to have a special place to install it in your car, do not reccomend it to have it completely exposed to rain and dust, it great to the licence plate space that some suv's have. It works grat in dayligth and good with the reverse ligth at nigth. |

Great little camera Date: 2009-05-02 | Rating: 4 Very nice little camera. The quality is plenty good enough to see what is behind you (although there is a little noise, I imagine more from the long cable). I drilled a hole in my plastic bumper and mounted it and found it to be a little troublesome. The collars are designed to rotate with a cam action to allow it to be aimed, but it is pretty awkward to adjust and level. Other than that I am very satisfied and feel that this is maybe the best safety feature for a car, especially if you have kids. Be sure and order you a standard video cable the length you need as it only comes with one long enough to go inside the car. |

Customer Reviews VERY PLEASED Date: 2009-02-17 | Rating: 5 WHEN I PLACED MY ORDER FOR THIS CAMERA IT WAS ON A SATURDAY, AMAZINGLY I RECEIVED IT BY MONDAY.BY THE WAY THIS CAMERA IS EXCELLENT GREAT RESOLUTION AND CLARITY SPECIALLY IN LOW LIGHT. GREAT CAMERA AND GREAT SHIPPING SERVICE I`M VERY PLEASED... THE ONLY THING HAVE A PROFESIONAL TO INSTALL IT.. Wow this works great. Date: 2009-04-07 | Rating: 5 I had initially bought a Vr3 3.5 inch setup which I had even bought the wire for. Well that was a complete disaster. The image quality on that camera was terrible. The Boyo BTL300 is the complete opposite. This camera works great, has a fantastic field of view and is unbelievable at night. I tested it last night in the dark, the image in my monitor looked like it was a black/white daytime shot. Complete clarity and everything was visible. Also, the camera itself is so small and slim it is not noticeable at all. So far I'm very happy with this unit. Great Reverse Camera Date: 2009-08-30 | Rating: 5 There is nothing bad to say about this camera. Very easy to see behind you in the day or night. Very easy to install. It's adjustable so make sure you get your bumper in the field of view for a point of reference so you know how far away you are from an object. My HU is a Pioneer AVIC F700BT so it hooked right up with no problems. Works great Date: 2009-09-08 | Rating: 5 As the other reviewers have said... this camera has great resolution and works great. Good low light camera as well as good for day use. A+ Product. Great camera Date: 2009-11-27 | Rating: 5 I installed this camera on my 2004 Toyota Sienna with the help from a technician (referred from a good friend so I paid only $75 for the whole job). The image of of this camera is so clear on my Boyo backup camera mirror and that reminds me of the image of my 2009 Lexus RX with the original navigation and backup camera package!!! However it is impossible to adjust the camera angle so that I can see both the things behind me and a bit of my bumper for parallel parking. I guess my Sienna is just a big van so the position of this camera frame is too far up from the bumper. Overall it is a great unit!!! |

Features - New Slim Camera Supports 150? Wide Viewing Angle - Remarkable Low Lux Performance 0.3 Lux at F2.0 - Unbeatable Picture Clarity and Brightness at Night - Color Metal Frame Black Product Description Ultra Slim Zinc Metal Black License Plate Camera Customer Reviews Low profile, high quality camera with good night vision Date: 2010-01-03 | Rating: 5 We combined this camera with a rear view mirror monitor (Boyo VTM 600 M) and had both installed via BestBuy's GeekSquad for 85 dollars as a wired system on our full size pickup truck. The camera is barely visible on the license plate frame when you look at the back of the truck, but with it's good quality CCD sensor and 150 degree angle provides a very good picture. Low profile and great night vision Date: 2009-06-30 | Rating: 5 You can't even tell there is a camera on your plate unless you get very close to it. The documentation says it has good low lux visibility and they are true to their word. The first night I used the camera, I thought out loud, "Wow, you can see the entire street." It is a noisy picture, though, both during the day and at night. It is a tiny cheap camera with a regular a/v feed. I didn't buy this for the clear picture. I did buy it for the 150 degree wide angle lens and it does the job quite nicely. I'm waiting to see it survive in the rain now... Good for what it is intended, but can be better. Date: 2009-09-04 | Rating: 4 I bought this camera and am generally happy with it. It has a very low profile, can't even tell that there is a camera present (especially if your car has a part of bumper that sticks out over the license plate area). I used anti theft screws to secure it, but paid for the installation. The picture is low-res but good enough to discern license plate numbers of cars lined up behind you and works better than expected in low-light conditions. It would be nice if Boyo would include distance markings that would allow you to judge how close/far you are from objects - otherwise it takes a bit of guesswork initially to know how close an object is based on where it is on a screen. Purpose of License Plate Camera Date: 2009-08-02 | Rating: 4 In an RV, I would understand the use of a back-up camera. However, I do not yet see the purpose for a rear license plate camera on a sedan. I do feel there should be a detailed explanation on its use and purpose before spending nearly $160.00 |

Customer Reviews Excellent product with my Avic Z3 navigation system Date: 2010-01-21 | Rating: 5 I wished that I knew about this product before I paid $250 for my Pioneer rear view camera. This one looks a lot nicer on my 2010 Toyota Corolla than the Pioneer RVC on the back of my 2007 Tundra. Anyhow I am very pleased with this purchase and it works perfectly. The only thing I would say is that the Pioneer RVC does have a little bit better color and light saturation than the Boyo but I paid several times more for the Pioneer RVC. |

Installed it on my 5th wheel and am really impressed with the quality of the sytem. The picture is great and the night vision really eases my reversing. Great product and super fast shipping. Highly Recommend!! Great system! Date: 2009-11-03 | Rating: 5 We purchased this system a couple of months ago for our motorhome. We just got home from a trip and loved it! Shipping was very fast. I broke a little piece off the monitor stand and they shipped a new one out the same day at no charge. Very nice people. Very easy to install. I installed the wiring under the motorhome while my husband installed the camera and hooked up the power supply. Our rearview mirror inside the motorhome is useless so we intalled the monitor above the mirror and leave the camera on the whole time we are travelling and use it as a rearview mirror. Now we can see our towed vehicle and all the traffic behind us. It eliminates all blind spots. It is just awesome! We feel much more confident now travelling with this camera/monitor system. It works great at night too. We highly recommend this system. |

The video is exellent and the antiglear mirror, let you concentrate in the traffic.I play videos from my mp3. Very good backup camera. The bluetooth is very good 95% of the time.(few calls I got sound to low) Nice But Very Poor Support Date: 2009-08-27 | Rating: 4 I could not find a shred of info re. the camera as to wired or wireless prior to purchase - asked several vendors and they could not answer the question - nothing on the manufacturer's site and no response from them. When it arrived I discovered it is wired - however, there is an extra red dongle off the camera with what looks like a coax-style dc power plug - which is undocumented in the instructions. There is a connector with bare wires to connect it to power and it worked. Lashed it up in the office-workshop and it all works fine - except that I was unable to get the lights to activate on the camera - wasn't able to locate the light-detecting diode in order to cover it. Will update once it has been mounted on the vehicle and tested. Need professional install Date: 2009-12-05 | Rating: 4 Works fine.... but since it goes through the ignition -- not for the home mechanic. Son has it on his FORD FOCUS... with the rear full of sound equipment and luggage he still can "see out the rear". Great Product - Poor support - Horrible instructions Date: 2009-12-29 | Rating: 3 This product is great (now that it is installed). The video is clear and resolution is better than I had expected. There are issues installing the device if you are not an experienced auto A/V installer. The bluetooth function is a nice speaker phone add on feature with some minor issues. Lets get to the chase, the reason I only give three stars, the owners manual (if you can call it that) sucks! It is a single page of paper divided in to four sections. One part covering the remote control, one part covering the function keys on the panel, one part covering bluetooth functionality, and one part with an incomplete wiring diagram. I say the wiring diagram is incomplete because there is an entire set of wires (used to power the camera) not shown. The entire written instructions for installation are: 1. Disconnect the negative lead of the battery before making power connections 2. When creating passage holes for the power wires, use grommets to eliminate any sharp edges created during drilling. 3. When connecting the ground lead, fasten the ground lead securely to a clean metal plate on the vehicle. I thought surely I was missing something. I went to the Pyle website only to find the manual listed as "comming soon". I sent an email to their support department and received a reply with no text, only an attachment of the same single page of useless paper. If you are not experienced with installing these devices you should seek professional installation. During the installation you will need likely need a cable to extend the video/power feed to the screen. The cable provided was not remotely long enough for me to route in a concealed manner. Fortunately you only need a simple mouse extension cable for this. Aside from the mouse extension cable the only other item needed was a short piece (2 feet depending on your vehicle)of small gauge wire to connect the two inches of provided reverse wire to your vehicle's back up circuit. Pairing the bluetooth is easy, probably the only thing clearly written in the "manual". The microphone is on the back of the screen picking up voices reflected off the windshield. Callers report a far away sound, but clearly audible. I found hearing the other party quite easy. The biggest drawback is a lack of ability to connect to the phone without using the phone. When I climb in the car I must pull my phone out of my pocket and go into the menu to search for the devise in order to connect. While driving, when receiving a call, there is no way to answer the phone from the screen. You must answer the phone at the phone, making this not truly hands free. Still it beats wearing a stupid earpiece when I am not on the phone. Overall good performance from a product designed for first time DYI. Too dark. Date: 2010-01-09 | Rating: 3 The mirror seems to be of good construction quality. Configuration menu is sophisticated and easy to use. Now the cons are: it's too dark compared (although seemed like usable) to the OEM and turned out to be NOT WIRELESS (which was not obvious by description, at least at the time I purchased it). I ended up returning it. |

The camera images look GREAT, it also has infrared sensors for an AMAZING night vision, you don't even need your reverse lights to be turned on to see in complete darkeness, I can ASSURE you that. It is waterproof, and this feature I did test it already, since it rains a lot in my country and haven't had a single problem with the camera. Great rear view camera Date: 2009-12-26 | Rating: 5 I am using this camera under the right side mirror of my motorhome so I can cover the large blind spot on that side. It functions very well in the respect. Image quality good, angle not as wide as I'd like Date: 2009-03-11 | Rating: 4 Overall this seems like a very good camera. The quality seems good and so far has not had any issues due to weather like previous cameras. I didn't want to drill a hole in the body of my truck to accommodate this camera so I installed it into a plastic housing under the bumper. It gets a good view, but surprisingly it can't actually see to the corners of the vehicle. The viewing angle of the camera almost makes it, but objects have to be 3-4 feet away (behind) the corners in order for the camera to pick them up. In the worst case, if something were right at the bumper on either side but just out of view of the side mirrors, you wouldn't be able to see it and could hit it. Other than this, if you're starting out somewhere that you know to be clear, then you're OK and can use your mirrors and camera to make it all work. The image quality is quite good, and at night can see well too. Good Camera at a Good price Date: 2009-12-07 | Rating: 4 Item arrived with all specified parts and in working order (including the drill bit) Installation is a little time consuming, so don't take this on if it's your first try at car audio / video. Unfortunately there were no instructions, and wires on the harness from the camera were unlabeled but luckily they were easy to figure out. The video out line is easy to spot as its the industry standard yellow RCA cable (17' extension included) The positive voltage that powers the camera is the wire that has the fuse in it (this line connects to the white back-up light in your tail lights and powers the camera) The remaining line is the ground and can be attached to almost any bare metal on vehicle, I usually choose a screw somewhere close. The cables included are long, but you may need to an extension for the power wire (to tell the receiver when to turn on the rear view monitor). I chose to extend the wire from the tail light so the video camera and the receiver got the same signal. The top of the camera is not noted, so you'll have to adjust it after installation. The camera automatically adjusts between regular and IR mode and the LED's around the lens will not light up. You'll know when it's in IR mode as the picture will change from color to B&W. The field of view is a little constricted compared to many cameras, but its enough for me (I can't see the corners of the vehicle, but can see behind me). Nice Camera, missing hole saw Date: 2009-06-01 | Rating: 3 I'd installed the camera in my Jeep Grand Cherokee with Pioneer 5600 DVD. The Installation was not simple, since I had to add extra video cable (the power cable is longer). As I noticed in other review, the hole saw that was supposed to come included in the kit was missing so I had to buy another one to be able to make the proper hole. The camera is water and dust resistant, and has a clear night vision, but since it has no angular lens (peep hole type) it doesn't cover both ends of the bumper and right there you miss the whole point of having a rear view camera. Just because of that, I would suggest further research of other similar products. |
